Correlation between size of females of white peach scale Pseudaulacaspis pentagona (Targioni Tozzetti) (Hemiptera: Diaspididae) from overwintering generation and the quantity of generated oocytes in their egg tubes on Prunus persica var. nectarina
K. Trencheva, G. Gerasimov
Abstract: Analysis of the results of mathematical processing of experimental data obtained shows that there is no clear correlation between size of females of Pseudaulacaspis pentagona from overwintering generation and the quantity of generated oocytes in their egg tubes. As a major argument in support of both foregoing statement outlining analytical results obtained for the Pearson correlation coefficient Rxy measurements as follows – 0.14; 0.09; 0.28. The obtained values for the Pearson correlation coefficient Rxy are extremely low according to both empirical standard scales. This shows that if correlation exists, it is slight and would rather random nature.
