Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of interaction between different norms of fertilizers: nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and silicon on the vegetation of Maize (Zea mays L.), medium-early hybrid – Pioneer 8834 from FAO group 310. The experiment includes 16 variants of fertilization with 3 replications. Several agronomic characteristics were studied – plant height on the 30th, 37th and 46th day from the beginning of the vegetation and yield of fresh and dried biomass from the aboveground part and the roots of the crop at harvest. According to the results, the agronomic characteristics were affected significantly by treatments. To sum up, the leading role of nitrogen stands out in treatments with high norm of nitrogen – (N400 and N300). Longer studies are needed to establish the mutual influence of silicon and other macroelements on the parameters studied, which is complicated by the progression of vegetation.
