Production of Protein Crops Structural Changes, Trends and Problems

Abstract: Protein crops are an important part of ensuring the nutritional and feed balance, while having a favorable environmental impact on agricultural land, climate and water, which imposes their study. In this regard, the aim of the article is based on an analysis of the situation to outline the structural changes, the trends and to highlight the problems in the sector of “protein crops”. Research methods: systematic and comparative analysis; indicator method; expert method; descriptive analysis; method of statistical groupings; inductive and deductive methods for analysis and formation of summaries and recommendations. The CAP impact on protein crops production has been outlined. Analysis is made of the cultivated areas with protein crops, by total size and by crop groups. The areas, the yields and the outputs by crop have been explored. The value indicator final output of protein crops was analyzed as well as their contribution for formation of the overall final output of the crop growing. The structure of farms growing protein crops has been researched.
