Little Cherry Disease (LChD) - economically important viral diseases in sweet and sour cherries

Abstract: In this review are presented the results of research on the nature and characteristics of the disease Little cherry disease – LChD. Currently, two different viruses belonging to the family Closteroviridae are associated with the LChD. These are Little cherry virus 1 (LChV-1) and Little cherry virus 2 (LChV-2). In the publication is made a detailed and thorough examination of geographical distribution and hosts; symptoms of the disease in susceptible species and cultivars; economic significance of the disease; means of movement and dispersal; detection and inspection methods; control. In Bulgaria, disease
was not detailed and thoroughly investigated. There is no information about the spread and economic damage caused by viruses.
