Petrobia (Tetranychina) harti (Acarina: Tetranychidae) a new species for the Bulgarian fauna
Nikola Atanasov, Mariela Marinova, Margarita Atanasova
Abstract: Petrobia harti was identified for the first time in Bulgaria in 2010 on Oxalis corniculata (Oxalidacea) at Zvanichevo’s village greenhouse. Oxalis corniculata is a very important weed for greenhouses where are crowing vegetable crops, like cucumbers and tomatoes. On a later stage Petrobia harti was found in Petrich greenhouses as well. It was carried out very often in a mixed colonies with the spider mites Tetranychus urticae and Tetranychus turkestani. Petrobia harti is a very specialized phytofagous mite and its growth optimal runs on Oxalis species.
